On February 8, APEMS hosted a seminar on drug abuse prevention among young people as part of the promotion of suicide prevention programs.

Police Major Aliya Kibatovna, senior detective of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana, delivered a lecture and informed students about the terrible consequences and dangers of using drugs, as well as criminal liability for their distribution. The main purpose of the lecture was to warn students against trying or distributing drugs.

Then the students made their presentations, in which they also developed the topic of the harm of using drugs. The students talked about the need to keep themselves in physical shape, to develop spiritually, to be psychologically stable, in general, to live a full life.

Director of the APEMS Scientific Library Bibigul Baltabekova organized a book exhibition, which presented various literature on the topic of drug addiction: books, magazine and newspaper articles, illustrated material about drug addiction, drugs, and their detrimental effects on the human body, especially adolescents and youth. The purpose of the exhibition is to help to realize this danger.

In the final part of the event, acting Dean Zhaksat Kenzhin awarded students with diplomas for prepared illustrative posters about the dangers of drug addiction.
