The World Universiade is considered one of the largest multi-sport events in the world. In terms of importance, it is in the second place after the Olympic Games. In January 2023, Lake Placid, USA hosted the XXXI World Winter Universiade, which was attended by over 1,400 athletes from 50 countries.

APEMS students who took part in the Universiade distinguished themselves by high performance. Namely, Zhanisov Sanzhar took II place in short track and Sagatov Bakdaulet took V place in speed skating at a distance of 5 thousand meters.
