In honor of Children's Day, the capital's children's sports club "Dojo Judo Club" was visited by the Deputy Head of Mission, Counselor of the Japanese Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Tomohiro Kanata.
The founder of "Dojo Judo Club" is Nurtazina Zhanat Kapezkyzy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Academy of Physical Education and Mass Sports.
The Dojo Judo Club opened its doors to children of all ages in 2021. Judo is the national sport of Japan, and one of the priority sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan. To date, more than 250 children are involved in the club.
The educational and training process in the Dojo Judo Club is conducted using unique programs and modern techniques developed based on many years of experience of Zhanat Nurtazina, who has gone from a coach of a youth sports school to the head coach of the national women's judo team of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the visit, Mr. Tomohiro Kanata got acquainted with the work of the coaching staff, the club administration and was impressed by the skill of the pupils. Young athletes demonstrated judo technique, as well as creative talents - they read Abai's poems, performed Kurmangazy's kui on dombra and danced breakdance on the tatami to applause.
During the visit, the director of the Department of Science and International Cooperation of APEMS Ten Alina discussed with Mr. Tomohiro Kanata the possibility of cooperation between Japanese universities and APEMS, to exchange experience in training personnel in the field of sports, academic exchange of students and faculty.
Mr. Tomohiro Kanata, in his welcoming speech, noted the importance of diplomatic relations between Japan and Kazakhstan, which accepted with great interest the invitation to visit the sports club "Dojo Judo Club", congratulated the pupils of the club on Children's Day and wished also to engage in judo with enthusiasm.
The sports club "Dojo Judo Club" is of great importance for APEMS students, as it is one of the bases for conducting pedagogical practice, thanks to which students acquire skills and improve their coaching and pedagogical skills.
