Students of the EMBA Sport Management program at the Academy of Physical Culture and Mass Sports (APEMS) arrived in Karlskrona, Sweden, aboard the Stena Line ferry to undertake a professional internship. The program focused on studying modern approaches to sports infrastructure management, recreational development, and improving access to mass sports.
During the internship:
- practical analysis was conducted;
- the culture and recreational resources of Sweden were explored;
- opportunities for developing yachting and water sports on open waters were examined;
- the “Silver University” program, promoting sports for senior citizens, was presented;
- the activities of the Karlskrona city administration in creating conditions for sports participation were reviewed.
Participants gained insights into European models for mass sports development and evaluated the effectiveness of social programs aimed at enhancing physical activity among older adults. Sports organization top managers played a key role in adapting and proposing new ideas to improve accessibility and inclusivity in sports in Kazakhstan.
