From October 15 to 17, 2025, a professional development course for coaches and referees of Qazaq kuresi was held in Astana. The program was jointly organized by the Academy of Physical Culture and Mass Sports and the Qazaq Kuresi Association. More than 70 specialists from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in the training aimed at enhancing professional competencies, improving knowledge, and exchanging practical experience.
The final day of the course featured a practical session titled “Enhancing the Professional Competence of Qazaq Kuresi Coaches: Legislation, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and First Aid Fundamentals.” Rehabilitation specialist and physician Maksat Botanbai from the “Atlant” Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation Center delivered an informative lecture on “Post-Injury Recovery Techniques for Athletes through Rehabilitation Exercises”.
Certified First Aid Instructors (FAI) of the Academy — Daulet Azerbayev, Kanat Nygmetov, and Bauyrzhan Sultanov — trained participants in methods of providing pre-medical assistance to athletes injured during competitions. Senior lecturer of the Academy Daulet Azerbayev also gave a presentation on “Safety Rules in Qazaq Kuresi,” shared professional video materials, and explained the latest methodological updates and rule changes.
The course program covered the following key topics:
- Sports Law and Regulatory Framework;
- Sports Rehabilitation;
- Sports Psychology;
- Sports Biomechanics;
- Safety Measures in Qazaq Kuresi;
- Teaching and Refereeing Methodology;
- Updated Rules and Regulations of Qazaq Kuresi.
Throughout the course, participants discussed current issues in the development of Qazaq Kuresi, exchanged experiences, and gained valuable practical knowledge. Upon completion, all participants were awarded certificates.
This course became an important step in strengthening the professional capacity of Qazaq kuresi coaches and referees, making a significant contribution to the growth and international recognition of the national sport of Kazakhstan.
